Wondering how Disqus works with "Subscribe to Comments" plugin

Oh, and what happens to all the other existing comments on the blog when you add disqus to it? Are they all replaced? Removed? Remain intact?

Hey Tim - I think I may answer both of your questions at once -

I believe the "Subscribe to Comments" plug-ins would still work. The reason I decided not to use Facebook's widget was because I couldn't keep all previous comments showing on the blog (at least, not easily) when adding the widget. The old comments remained in my Wordpress DB, but the new ones were hosted by Facebook - and they were the only ones that were visible. With Disqus, it imports all of your old Wordpress comments and the new ones are still stored in your WP database. For this reason, I'm pretty sure the subscribe to comments plug-ins would still work. However, I haven't used one before - so this is only speculation!

whenever i attempt to leave a facebook video comment i get an error saying "couldn't connect to server, please try again later or now". does anyone know how to correct this. and yes my webcam works, facebook sees it and displays what it sees in my browser but when i attempt to record i get that error message. any ideas?

Disqus makes managing the blog comments easy. Also it shows comments in threaded form so that the conversation on the blog is distinguished from other conversations. One drawback is that it don't allow importing of comments except on wordpress and blogger blogs.
